About Us

Driving for Quality Care is a nationwide petition tour and grassroots initiative to urge President Obama, the United States Congress and America’s Governors to take immediate steps to preserve and protect America’s long term and rehabilitative care services so that every U.S. senior and disabled citizen can access the quality care they need, expect and deserve.

The tour, sponsored by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living, will hold more than 60 petition-signing events for the media and the general public in 40 states to provide patients, residents, family members, caregivers and citizens across America the chance to voice their concerns about Medicaid funding shortages that threaten access to quality care and could jeopardize crucial health care jobs.

In addition to building grassroots support via a 4ft x 60ft traveling petition, Driving for Quality Care will empower citizen activists online by providing the opportunity to sign the petition, write their legislators, recruit friends via email and social media, share personal stories, and follow the tour’s progress - all from the an interactive website, http://www.drivingforqualitycare.com.

America’s nursing, rehabilitation and assisted living providers remain committed to maintaining and enhancing quality care and services for the residents, patients, and communities they serve.  Driving for Quality Care is a cause intended to make that goal a reality.

We hope you will join us in this important effort to raise awareness and build support to make adequate funding of Medicaid and Medicare a top health care policy priority.
